Copper Kettle

1920s

2103 E. Madison St.

Not much information survives about this East Madison district speakeasy, but it is known that Edythe Turnham’s orchestra was playing there in 19267 and that the club was raided by federal agents a year earlier. According to Bruce Rowell, a saxophonist who was there at the time, the place was run by a man called “Six Fingers” Taylor.
